This book is amazing! We see trees every day. They help our environment, but who would have thought they could make history fun. This author went above and beyond with the idea. Can't wait to see the next adventure. Very well written and factual. Children will love to learn history this way. I actually learned something I did not know and I am a native Texan! This book (and hopefully the series) is a wonderful way to introduce children to compelling stories of American History. It is designed so the child can read it themselves but also to receive more in-depth information when an adult is reading to the child. The prompts at the bottom of the page allow the adult to elaborate on the story at their own discretion. The illustrations are beaiutiful, colorful and completely accurate to the story. I highly recommend this book. Well researched and well written. This darling children's book is a must read for all elementary age children. The stories about the brave soldiers who defended the Alamo are easy to comprehend while learning Texas history at the same time! The artwork is colorful and helps tell the story beautifully. I can wait to read the next book from this talented author in the coming weeks! Beautiful stories that make learning about history so much fun! Brilliant! We all loved the Alamo Tree story. "Tana Holmes is the author and creator of beautifully illustrated and creatively constructed books for children of all ages.
