Now she's created a neuro net smart enough to change the world. After the tragic loss of her brother, though, she's determined to make sure her invention helps humans and never harms them. Danny loves robots in every form, but he's determined to stay away from the military and his domineering father, even if that means taking a pay cut. When an old investor friend comes knocking, though, promising everything his friends need to take their company to the big leagues in exchange for military-grade tech, Danny might have to start keeping secrets. But how long can he fool someone as smart as Nara? Stanley has crafted a bio-skin realistic enough to fool anyone who touches it, but his main concern is keeping Nara, the love of his life, around. He proposes an ingenious idea: combining Nara's neuro net, Danny's robotics expertise, and Stanley's bio-skin into one super-smart robot. Surely starting a company together will give him time to win Nara's heart. But the choices he has to make to fund their company might just drive him further and further from the woman he loves. Together, the three of them craft AL, an artificially intelligent robot capable of walking among people without detection. But do they really know what they're building, or is AL greater than the sum of his parts?
