Overview

Using Hebrew, Turkish, Arabic and Italian primary sources, the author studies violence against the Jews of Cairo during the revolt of the Ottoman governor Ahmed Pasha (1523-1524). He deconstructs the 16th-20th century historiography of the events in order to write his own history.
