Engr. Segun started his professional career as registered member of the Nigeria Institution of Agricultural Engineers (NIAE) in September 2001, obtained corporate membership of the Nigeria Society of Engineers in 2006 and was granted full registration as professional engineer duly registered with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) in 2011. He was listed as member of the academia in Nigeria in 2011 and awarded a Pillar of nation building award same year. He has made significant contributions to research and development focusing on practical applications. He has authored several national and International journal publications, monograms and several books in agricultural engineering, workplace safety, solar energy applications, agricultural mechanization, machinery management and workshop technology. He is married with children.
