A glance at the futureReviewsAuthor InformationProf. Dr. Jorge Alió, is academically serving in Universidad Miguel Hernández as Professor and Chairman of Ophthalmology and Director of the Iberia Biobank and Biodata created jointly with the funding of the National Network of Clinical Research (OFTARED, National Health Institute Carlos III), where he is the Coordinator of Eye Diopter Research. His clinical services as an ophthalmic clinician and surgeon are provided in ‘Vissum Instituto Oftalmológico de Alicante’ (Founded by Dr. Alió in 2004), ‘Grupo Miranza’. Throughout his career and arising from his clinical research activities, he has been the author or co-author of 669 peer review papers, 385 book chapters, 99 books (as editor or co-editor), and over 2.111 presentations and invited lectures in international meetings. Jorge Alio, recently entered the ‘Forbes’ list of the 100 best doctors in Spain Andrzej Grzybowski, M.D., Ph.D., MBA, MAE, is a Professor of Ophthalmology at the Institute for Research in Ophthalmology. He has been an active editor, editor in chief, and author of more than 500 peer-reviewed international publications and over 50 book chapters as well as reviewer for more than 20 journals. He serves as editorial board member of several international journals, including the American Journal of Ophthalmology, and is a lifelong member of the European Academy of Ophthalmology. As the only Polish ophthalmologist he was included in the top 2% ranking of world-best scientists prepared by Stanford University. In 2022 he was awarded Officers’ Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta for outstanding achievements in research and teaching and support for international scientific cooperation by the President of Poland, a ranking of the Top 100 most influential people in the world of ophthalmology. Anat is a retina specialist, expert in retinal toxicity, and has a strong research interest in the early detection of retinal disease. Her career path started with four years serving as a physician-officer in the Israeli Navy, a residency in TASMC, a fellowship in retinal vascular diseases and vitreoretinal surgery at The Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute in Baltimore, before returning to Israel, where before long, she was appointed head of TASMC’s vitro-retina unit, and then went on to become the Chair of the Department of Ophthalmology.
