Overview

The Ages & Stages Learning Activities are simple activities designed to enhance the growth and development of infants and young children. The authors developed this set of activities to coordinate with the Ages & Stages Questionnaires (ASQ)[trademark] screening system. The activities are organized by the domains of the ASQ[trademark]: communication, gross motor, fine motor, problem solving, and personal social. They are also divided into four- and six-month age ranges for babies, toddlers and young children. Each domain sheet for an age range contains a brief description of typical development during that age range and a series of 5-6 activities. These activities can be used with children who receive scores of ""Well Above the ASQ[trademark] Cutoffs"" or ""Close to the ASQ[trademark] Cutoffs."" They are not intended to be a comprehensive intervention that meets the needs of a child with an identified developmental delay. However, the activities can be used to support an intervention program. They are also appropriate for use independent of the ASQ[trademark]. The activities are photocopiable and can be used by early interventionists, home visitors, teachers, and parents.
