:This text is a compilation of papers from keynote speakers, invited presenters, and other attendees of CONNECTIONS '88: First International Symposium - Research and Public Policy on Aging and Health. The book is organized into five parts: Health Needs, Programs, and Policies; Money, Politics, and Public and Private Choices; Performing Effective Gerontological Research; Applying Gerontological Research Effectively; and Cementing Research and Policy Connections. It conveys the range and depth of ideas and findings that characterize gerontology in the late 1980s.
