Against an Infinite Horizon: The Finger of God in Our Everyday Lives

Overview

Faith, ideally, is a way of seeing the holy in all things. In this book on tape, Rolheiser develops a vocabulary that allows us to see better. He speaks to both believers and those who struggle to see. There is in the lives of everyone of us a conspiracy of accidents that might aptly be called the divine providence. In twelve chapters Rolheiser addresses familiar issues of everyday work, prayer, relationships, family, love, sex, hurt, longing, fidelity, failure, sin, suffering, death and resurrection. Other topics bid us stretch our imagination and invite us to tackle issues of emotional import and spiritual relevance such as gender, both ours and what we may assign to God, the concept of hell and social justice. Rolheiser challenges us to reconsider what it means to be Catholic in our generation, in our century and to take God seriously and ecstatically.
