Fourteen leading Egyptologists, al delegates to the International Conference on the Valley of the Kings (Highclere Castle, June 1990) are contributors to this collection of papers. Commissioned to mark the 75th anniversary of the start of work in the Royal burial ground by the fifth Earl of Carnarvon and Howard Carter, the contributions present an up-to-date review of the developments in excavation, mapping and research in the Valley.
