Reviews

The fine work in this stirring book reminds us all not only of what evil there is in the world but also of our moral responsibilities in that respect, both collectively and individually.

Everything [Niemeyer] has done in photography pales next to his work in Africa, words and photos that tell the horrors of genocide, corruption, and slavery in Rwanda and Sudan. [ Africa ] is oddly beautiful and a loving portrait urging change rather than cultivating despair.
