Gerhard Kubik is one of the best-known scholars in the field of ethnomusicology and author of numerous books over a lengthy career. A cultural anthropologist, ethnomusicologist, and psychoanalyst, Kubik researches music, dance, and oral traditions in Africa and the Americas.
