Overview

Aestechnique is a book of exercises for the classical guitar (easily adaptable to other instruments) which blends technical and musical issues. More than working on how to move the fingers, the exercises work how to shape dynamic changes, create articulation contrasts, explore sonorities. The goal of those exercises is to master musicality tools so when the repertoire demands, the guitarist will have already the needed skill to make that composition sound expressive and enchant audiences. The book is divided in four chapters, each one focusing on a particular subject: scales, cadences (chord sequences), arpeggios and a collection of techniques that are part of the guitar idiom (rasgueo, trinado, vibrato, alzapua, dedilho, tremolo).
