Much of his 20 plus years working in the media industry was spent as a crime reporter at the daily newspapers. He is an experienced, all-round newsman, having worked many different news beats and a variety of production editor roles, including night editor (content manager). The son of a detective and a newspaper woman, Marius was born in Pretoria, South Africa, in 1964. He studied the 3-year National Diploma in Journalism at the Pretoria Technikon (Tshwane University of Technology). He worked seven years as a radio newsreader and current affairs presenter/producer.
