Author Information

Prof. Xingjian Jing received his B.S. degree from Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China, M.S. degree in artificial intelligence and control, and Ph.D. degree in robotics both from Shenyang Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shenyang, China. He also achieved the Ph.D. degree in nonlinear systems and signal processing from the Department of Automatic Control and Systems Engineering, University of Sheffield, Sheffield, UK. He is now Professor with the Department of Mechanical Engineering, City University of Hong Kong. Before joining in City, he was Research Fellow with the Institute of Sound and Vibration Research, University of Southampton, working on biomedical signal processing, and thereafter Assistant Professor and Associate Professor with Hong Kong Polytechnic University. His current research interests are generally related to nonlinear dynamics, vibration, and control, focusing on theory and methods for employing nonlinear benefits in engineering. Ding Hu is Research Fellow at Shanghai University and serves as Associate Dean of the School of Mechanics and Engineering Science at Shanghai University. His research interests are generally related to nonlinear dynamics and control. His research involves nonlinear vibration and control, with a particular focus on the nonlinear vibration characteristics of pipes under high pressure, high temperature, and high speed, as well as the design of nonlinear vibration isolation and suppression devices for the nonlinear boundary control of elastic structural vibrations. He has designed various nonlinear vibration reduction devices, continuous body bending vibration nonlinear control, and nonlinear vibration energy control strategies and has been granted more than ten national invention patents.   Prof. Bo Yan received his M. S. and Ph.D. in mechanics from Xi'an Jiaotong University. He is now served as the vice dean of the school of mechanical engineering at the Zhejiang Sci-Tech University (ZSTU). Now he focused on the research on the low-frequency vibration isolation with electromagnetics and bio-inspire structures. He serves as a director of the Chinese Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, standing director of the Zhejiang Society for Vibration Engineering, Associate Editor of the International Journal of Dynamics and Control, Young Editorial Board Member of the Journal of Mechanical Engineering and the Journal of Zhejiang University (Engineering Science). He has funded by several projects from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, including the Ye Qisun Key Program and the Excellent Young Scientists Fund Program. He has published 1 academic monograph, and over 90 peer-reviewed journal articles, and holds more than 10 authorized invention patents.
