He has more than 23 years of teaching, research, and industrial experience. Chandrasekaran has also been a visiting fellow by invitation of the Ministry of Italian University Research to the University of Naples Federico II, Italy (MiUR Fellow), during which time he conducted research on advanced nonlinear modeling and analysis of structures under different environmental loads with experimental verifications. In addition, he has published approximately 130 research papers in international journals and refereed conferences, and authored textbooks on civil and ocean engineering.
