OverviewLumbar radiculopathy is a condition characterised by pain in the lower back and hip, often radiating down the lower limbs in a dermatomal pattern. It encompasses a range of symptoms including anaesthesia, hypoesthesia, paresthesia, motor loss, and pain, with degenerative changes and nerve root compression commonly implicated. While various factors such as mechanical stress and posture can contribute, degenerative processes are frequently the underlying cause. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is pivotal in the early detection of degenerative changes. This study was undertaken to study the role of MRI in evaluating degenerative disease of the lumbar disc.
