He is also a technical consultant at Imperial Consultants Ltd, UK, since 2021. His research interests include solid mechanics including interfacial contact problem and friction, energy storage including lithium-ion battery simulation using electrochemical model and equivalent circuit model, battery thermal management, degradation, control algorithm and pack level simulation.   Dr. Cheng Zhang is an Assistant Professor of Institute for Clean Growth & Future Mobility at Coventry University, UK since 2019. His research interests mainly lie in advanced battery management algorithms, including design of experiment for battery characterization, electrical-thermal-ageing simulation of battery systems, model-based real-time parameter and state estimation, and optimal control.
