.,. .The book is highly recommended for the library, part of one's research holdings, and as a text deal with the health issues in psychology. Wallander and Siegel have produced a very solid volume. --Corrective and Social Psychiatry and Journal of Behavior Technology Methods and Therapy
Drs. Wallander and Siegel have united the work of an impressive list of experts on adolescent behavior to create a volume that elucidates the many issues and influences affecting adolescent health. The volume bridges theory, current empirical research and clinical and public health practice, making it appropriate for both researchers and practitioners in the field of adolescent health. Moreover, the volume creates a firm foundation for the development and implementation of interventions designed to reduce adolescent risk-taking behavior and enhance the adoption and maintenance of health- promoting behavior. I recommend this volume to anyone with an interest in adolescent health. --Ralph J. DiClemente, Ph.D., Assoc. Prof., Schools of Public Health and Medicine and Co-Director, Prevention Sciences Research, Center for AIDS Research
I have developed high expectations about Jan Wallander's and Larry Siegel's scientific work, and my respect is now extended to their editing of this

The editors' deep understanding of the issues in adolescent health problems is revealed by their selection of highly qualified authors and the clear organization of the volume. Their attention to detail is shown by the quality and conciseness of the individual chapters. I was particularly pleased with the comprehensive coverage, from epidemiology and theory, to risky and health-promoting behaviors, to key chronic diseases. Adolescent Health Problems: Behavioral Perspectives will be a useful sourcebook for researchers and practitioners from a variety of disciplines. Not only will this volume help seasoned professionals expand their competence in adolescent health, but it will be an outstanding textbook to provide a sophisticated introduction for students. --James F. Sallis, Ph.D., Professor of Psychology, San Diego State University
