OverviewThis report documents good practices and lessons learned from around the world in emergency and humanitarian situations, highlighting FAO's successes in building resilience and mainstreaming gender. These include labour-saving technologies and fostering participation through initiatives such as women's open schools, farmer field schools, and community organizations.Conflicts and disasters around the world, and their negative impacts on lives and properties, are drawing attention to the need to increase the resilience of vulnerable rural communities and their livelihood sources.
