OverviewThis comprehensive book examines the manufacturing of thin-walled structures using diverse Additive Manufacturing (AM) processes. It emphasizes fundamental principles alongside cutting-edge developments in AM, covering materials ranging from non-metallic to metallic thin-wall applications. This book provides complete coverage from pre-processing through post-processing stages, explores both traditional and machine learning-based characterization techniques for thin-walled structures, and presents real-world case studies demonstrating various engineering applications of thin-walled designs. Key features Exclusively focuses on AM of thin-walled structures, including fabrication, characterization, and simulation Highlights quality control and post-processing of thin-walled structures Features simulation models used to study the complex distribution of thermal stresses in thin-walled structures Explains parametric modeling and process parameter optimization for AM of quality thin-walled structures Sheds light on the applications of additive-manufactured thin-walled structures This book is aimed at graduate students and researchers in manufacturing engineering, AM, and modeling and simulation.
