Now having spent 10 years without using any form of pornography the author of this book was addicted to Internet pornography for over ten years and reached a crisis point when he was arrested for viewing illegal images of children. Having known for a number of years that his use of Internet pornography was out of control he set about seeking help firstly from a relevant charity and eventually from a top therapist. To help further with his recovery the author felt that both he and his family needed to know as much about this addiction as possible and he set out to research the subject. The amount of information he found was staggering in quantity but limited in variety. Many of the existing books were long, full of medical terms and packed with case studies which were of little relevance. Ivan McVeigh lives in Northern Ireland where before retiring he ran a number of businesses. He was inspired to create this booklet after coming to terms with his own 10 year addiction to Internet pornography. During the early stages of his recovery he was frustrated by the lack of a single simple resource which would give addicts and their family the basic information needed to understand the addiction. This booklet is the distillation of hundreds of hours of research and aims to give readers the knowledge they need to address their own problems. At the time of publication Ivan McVeigh has successfully started his sixth year in recovery, a road which involved study, family support and the help of a very good therapist. Ivan is also campaigning to have access to Internet pornography restricted and has experienced some success with the UK government in this campaign.
