Adaptable Teaching: Thirty Practical Strategies for All School Contexts is an important resource for teachers as they build knowledge, skills, attitudes, and dispositions for successful teaching in diverse school contexts. Educators from across the globe engage in essential issues in our journey to teach to the strength of students. A book from educators for educators and a book for newer and experienced teachers alike, this book necessarily pushes theory to practice.--H. Richard Milner IV, Cornelius Vanderbilt Distinguished Professor of Education, Peabody College of Vanderbilt University, Author, Author of Start Where You Are But Don't Stay There, President (2022), American Educational Research Association Now, more than ever, educators need practical and actionable strategies that they can use in their classrooms. While teaching is incredibly complex, by learning with colleagues and applying the research, all educators can improve their practice and help all children achieve new heights in learning and outcomes. In this new book, the authors have applied their own expertise and that of researchers and practitioners in such a way that all educators can benefit. You'll find their strategies to be clear, applicable, and exactly what our educators need right now in order to ensure that all schools are great places for both students and adults to thrive.--Joshua P. Starr Ed.D, CEO of PDK International, former Superintendent of the Montgomery County Public Schools This book inspires student-focused action in an easily digestible format. These bite size morsels offer educators practical advice and tools for their in-the-moment needs. A fingertip ready gift of inspiration.--Kimberley Harrington Markus, Former New Jersey Commissioner of Education, Chief Education Officer of the Education Research and Development Institute This book offers a wealth of strategies, inspirations, and practical suggestions to provide support and guidance in the never-ending pursuit of strengthening teaching and learning. This isn't just a 'how-to-book, ' it is a 'this is how I have done it' book that offers teacher-developed, research-backed, easy-to-adapt practices that will be valuable to teachers who are new to the field and to all teachers striving to meet the needs of each student. Written with respect for teachers and an appreciation of the unique qualities of each classroom, Adaptable Teaching: Thirty Practical Strategies for All School Contexts will build the toolbox of individual teachers and provide opportunities for rich professional discussion and collaboration. I cannot wait to dig into this book and series with my colleagues.--Mary Eldredge-Sandbo, EdD, NBCT, 2010 North Dakota State Teacher of the Year Wow! A handbook of strategies for both the novice and the veteran teacher! I looked through the table of contents and was immediately able to identify a couple of strategies that I can apply in the classroom tomorrow! Can't wait for the other books in this Toolbox series!--Revathi Balakrishnan, 2016 Texas Teacher of the Year
