OverviewA group of hostile, rapacious aliens wants to strip Earth of crystals, the main component of advanced technology. These crystals are rare in many parts of the Galaxy but not nearly as rare on Earth. They also covet human meat, seen as a delicacy to many alien races. So they launch a stealth Asteroid toward Earth, intending it smashes into the planet to serve as a distraction for their invasion, but miscalculate and create an Extinction Level Event. A friendly alien race learns of this plan, but it is too late for it to be stopped. The friendly aliens confront the hostile aliens in the Galactic Council, the governing body for advanced civilizations in the Galaxy. The Council votes to censure the hostile aliens and forces them to supply large transport ships in an attempt to save at least some of Humanity. The plan is to locate Human volunteers to organize volunteer groups of Humans from selected parts of the planet.
