Reviews

This book helps us make sense of the human condition. It's a courageous and energetic exploration that invites us to understand more about the world, and our own experiences. Azadi elucidates complex situations with poetic grace and impact. * Charlotte Fox Weber, author of WHAT WE WANT * The clean narrative delivers brutal realities. I was left reeling at one boy's journey, his courage, the unflinching honesty. It is a timely work and an essential read. Full of humanity and grace * Melody Razak, author of MOTH *

Author Information

Mir Rahimi was born in Afghanistan and moved to the UK in 2001. He entered secondary school for the first time that year at the age of fourteen and, a decade later, graduated with a master's degree in Political Theory from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Mir has dedicated himself to serving humanity and has worked with charities, local authorities, and the United Nations to help relieve the suffering of vulnerable people, particularly children and young people affected by wars and conflicts worldwide. Mir Rahimi previously published under the pseudonym Arman Azadi, which meant hope and freedom, and was used to ensure the safety of the author's family in Afghanistan.
