Author Information

Liz Ortiz-Mackes is the owner of I Ain't Playin' Films and Casting Solutions. As an indie film producer and casting director, she is credited on numerous television, film and theatrical projects. Films she has worked on have screened at hundreds of U.S. and international film festivals and, in many instances, have won awards. Industry positions held by Liz include: SAG and Equity-franchised talent agent on both coasts; Director of Special Events at the Dramatists Guild; Director of Artists Files On-Line at the Non-Traditional Casting Project; faculty member at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts; and faculty member at The New York Film Academy. Currently, she teaches and provides private coaching for The Performing Option, conducts monthly workshops for the SAGAFTRA Foundation and works as a casting consultant on film, television, theatre and web projects. As a producer, she is at various stages of development and production on multiple short and feature film projects. Liz lives in New York City with her husband and two sons.
