OverviewThe purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of accounting process automation on operational efficiency, the quality of financial information and the transformation of the role of the accounting professional within organizations. For this purpose, a quantitative approach was applied by means of a structured questionnaire that evaluated the level of automation and its perceived impact on different key dimensions, focusing its analysis on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) affiliated to CANACINTRA in Hermosillo, Sonora. The results show that automation contributes significantly to improving operational efficiency, reducing errors and strengthening the reliability of financial records, in addition to promoting the transition of the accounting professional towards more analytical and strategic functions. In general terms, it is concluded that automation has become an essential element for the modernization of companies, by optimizing processes, raising the quality of information and redefining the professional profile required in the accounting field.
