OverviewAccess to drinking water is becoming a growing concern due to population growth. This study aims to contribute to a better understanding of water supply issues in light of population trends in Issaba District. The methodological approach used involves data collection from 317 households, data processing, and analysis of the results using the PEIR model. The results show that the Issaba District is experiencing strong population growth due to natural increase. This growth is not proportional to the availability of drinking water sources. Boreholes (BF) constitute the main source of drinking water. The main constraints encountered in accessing drinking water are related to distance and inadequate water infrastructure. Furthermore, water from boreholes is subject to physicochemical and bacteriological pollution. The epidemiological profile is characterized by a high incidence of waterborne diseases. This research paves the way for a broader discussion on the need to develop a monitoring and planning mechanism.
