She earned her coaching certification from the National Urban Alliance. Strom has taught math education and equity courses at the University of St. Thomas and conducted nationwide research on youth development and tutoring programs. In collaboration with Dr. Lucy Payne, she developed a unique and highly effective after-school club with partners at the University of Minnesota. Lucy L. Payne, Ph.D., is co-author of Academic Intervention Success: A Whole-Child Approach to K-5 Achievement and brings nearly 30 years of experience in early childhood and elementary education, with expertise in reading and math. She has held leadership roles on the Minnesota teacher licensure board, local school boards, and various community arts boards.
