Academic Failure (Screenplay): dark sides to the ivory tower (2nd ed.)

Overview

Leonard Cravitz, Professor of Political Science, watches with horror as his life and career are demolished. The attacker is an elderly caretaker who finds evidence of deceit, academic larceny, and sexual impropriety with other staff and students. In this fast-moving screenplay all of the characters with one exception are composites of people the author met or worked with over a 28-year career as a university professor. The events are a collage of real deeds and schemes. A novel based on this screenplay will be released in late 2016.

Author Information

David Abbey is a retired professor of Psychology who spent 28 years within university systems. His experiences as a teacher, researcher and administrator form the basis of this book. After his early retirement he began to pursue writing screenplays as a challenging hobby - later switching to stage plays which allowed for more immediacy among writer, performer and audience. Academic Failure was his first screenplay and it is now re-released in its second edition. He is now adapting the screenplay into a novel.
