Valerie Sherrard is the author of more than thirty books for children and teens, including the multi-award-nominated Birdspell and the novel-in-verse Standing on Neptune. The New Brunswick Lieutenant Governor’s Awards for High Achievement in the Arts named Valerie the 2024 Literary Arts Laureate. Born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, she now lives in Miramichi, New Brunswick.
