OverviewThis textbook covers the structure of electronic geodetic instruments, the methodological foundations of distance and angle measurements, and metrological aspects. We believe that a sufficient and in-depth coverage of the issues of studying electronic geodetic instruments will be useful for specialists using these instruments. In the first generation of total stations (70-80s), the process of measuring distances, directions and angles was automated. The measurement results were displayed on an electronic scoreboard, but they could not be stored in the device's memory. The 1st generation of total stations includes TaZM (PO UOMZ). The microprocessor installed in the TAZM performs control, verification and simple calculation operations: horizontal setting of the slope distance, determination of relative height and coordinates.
