Abominations: Poems of Feminine Monstrosity, Transformation, & Horror

Overview

About the book: Mysterious cosmic skyseeds an epidemic of monstrous transformations trans-sapphic Cinderellas ancient god devices crypto-werefoxes dryad orgies transgender scions of ancient witching lineages lapine lawnmower revenge fantasies cursed toys, a cruel remaking and the atavistic certainty that something is stalking you in the darkness. This illustrated short collection of speculative poetry straddles the line between body horror and euphoria. By turns mythic and mundane, these poems blend queer embodiment, feminine monstrosity, and magick into a potent brew of imagery and feelings sure to make your skin crawl and your imagination soar. With illustrations by the author, made with handmade black walnut ink that she brewed under the winter solstice moon.

Author Information

Theresa Jean Tanenbaum (""Tess"") is a queer, polyamorous, neurodivergent, disabled, transgender woman, and a witch. She writes and produces music under the name of Moth Mother, creates weird single-player RPGs, writes cozy queer romance novels and speculative poetry, and brews her own homemade black walnut ink. In a previous life she was a tenured professor at a major research university but now she lives in the woods with her wife, four cats, bearded dragon, seven chickens, five ducks, and her increasingly feral son.
