Author Information

Massimo Carlini is Director of the Department of  General Surgery at the S. Eugenio Hospital in Rome. He graduated in Medicine and Surgery (cum laude) from the Sapienza University of Rome in 1982 and subsequently specialized in General Surgery, Oncologic Surgery, and Emergency Surgery. Adjunct Professor at the University of Rome, Italy and a Tutor and Teacher at the SIC and ACOI Special Schools of Minimally Invasive Surgery. He is a Councillor in the American College of Surgeons - Italy Chapter and in the Italian Society of Surgery. He is Vice President of the Roman Academy of Surgery and Regional Delegate in the Italian Society of Emergency Surgery too. Professor Carlini is the author of more than 200 scientific publications and more than 70 videos of open and minimally invasive surgical techniques. He has performed over 15.000 surgical procedures, mainly minimally invasive, for esophagogastric, hepatobiliary, pancreatic and colorectal diseases.
