Overview

This utility is ready-to-use tool for basic or technical support team members. Often they have either failed batch job (in this case the batch can be at least investigated more detailed) or successfully completed background job, which does something unexpected or wrong with data, and this issue or even problem has to be fixed. Another case when there is requirement to update steps for a particular entity, e.g. plant or company code, in background jobs that have to be determined. In production environment a hundreds batches are being scheduled, released and run on regular basic or event-driven, and often there is no detailed documentation about the steps, schedules etc, only historically established work process . This utility should help team members to find all reports and background job steps, which use a particular value in their variants. For example, we run the utility to find all batches that have in ABAP step variants the Plant = 0005.I'm sure this utility, which represent a small piece of human work, will be helpful for you in your daily duties, or will give you some new ideas to use in further activities. There is no phenomenal technique in this code, but there is simple and reliable technique, and, I hope, also some kind of filigree technique.
