In fact, you'll feel like you've been to places few others ever hear about. Jim's been there, and through anecdotes, historical facts, myths, poetry and 50 great photos, you will appreciate the country more. But that is not all. You'll be uplifted and refreshed and will pick up the book time after time to be encouraged - Greg Neely. --- Jim Bell's fascination with Ireland and his knowledge of Irish writers and culture have combined to produce a deeply enjoyable day-by-day devotional. Drawing upon the poetry of MacNeice, Heaney and Wilde, and others, blending in traditional folklore and his own personal experiences of travelling the island, each bite-size meditation is a fine way to exercise one's mind and centre one's thoughts on what life is really about each day - Richard Hutchinson. Author InformationJim finds inspiration in many areas of his personal life: the education and tutoring of youth for over 45 years, literature, family, his faith, and of course Ireland. He was born of Scottish descent, is a true Canadian (Brantford, Ontario), but when he married into his Northern Irish family, his focus changed. He has visited Ireland some 25 times with some stays as long as 2 months, and during those periods, his love for Ireland and Irish authors grew as he traversed hundreds of miles of roads. Jim lives with his wife, Esther in Tsawwassen BC, and is semi-retired. Both his daughters, Sarah and Melissa have gone on to successful careers of their own. One son-in-law is also of Northern Irish descent. Tab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
