"""A Wintry Piano Wonderland"" Christmas Carols Reimagined by Oded Essner Growing up Jewish, Christmas wasn't a holiday I celebrated in the traditional sense. Yet, the melodies and atmospheric charm of the season were always close to my heart. In fact, it was the Christmas albums by jazz artists, particularly the enchanting harmonies of Take 6, that deeply resonated with me. Their soulful renditions ignited a spark, prompting me to delve into classics such as ""Hark! The Herald Angels Sing,"" ""Silent Night,"" and Bach's ""Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring."" I've collaborated with the remarkable Germany-based illustrator Silke Leffler for this musical journey. This marks our second collaboration (the first presented here as a bonus track). As with our first, her magical illustrations beautifully intertwine with the music, enhancing the ambiance and deepening the visual narrative. A meticulously crafted sheet music book accompanies the album for those inspired to play. Dive into my interpretations, connect with each note, and perhaps find your own inspiration.
