Overview

"After a substantial author's preface recounting Peter S. Williams's life journey with the question of God's existence, A Universe From Someone pulls together essays and opgoo ening speeches from debates (including the 2011 ""God is not a delusion"" debate at the Cambridge Union) that jointly cover a wide variety of theistic arguments. Together with a foreword by noted philosopher J. P. Moreland, an annotated bibliography highlighting ""Four Dozen Key Resources on Apologetics and Natural Theology in an Age of Science,"" and other recommended resources, A Universe From Someone offers an informed overview of the contemporary case for God."

Reviews

Peter Williams provides a highly valuable overall case for the truth of theism. In concise but packed chapters, he covers all the essentials: from a defense of natural theology to an examination of the current state of the theistic arguments. Especially powerful because he takes the atheist's positions seriously and quotes them frequently. A truly excellent primer on arguing for God's existence. --W. David Beck, Liberty University, emeritus Williams has written an excellent introduction and guide to natural theology. I appreciate the practicality of this volume: its array of written and internet resources on arguments for God's existence; helpful annotated bibliographies on valuable books on natural theology; and the author's weaving together his personal story into the book to show the relevance of these natural-theological arguments. In addition, the author robustly engages contemporary dissenting nontheistic voices with pointed responses of his own. A valuable book! --Paul Copan, Palm Beach Atlantic University In this crisp and lucid book, Peter Williams provides an accessible and informative account of the current case for God. It is preceded by a captivating, more personal narrative of how he came to love and devote much of his life to natural theology. And it is supplemented with various overviews of the terrain for any reader who would like to know more about the arguments for God's existence. I warmly recommend this book. --Rik Peels, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam
