From the author's daughter: For as long as I can remember, Mom was always executing some new art project; a portrait of the kids with the dog, birthday banners for a friend, books for the grandchildren and sketches of future ideas. In formulating a new vision, she would use live models, photographs and memory to bring it all to fruition. It has always been exciting to see what Mom had on her drawing table. Even before I began school, Mom's fashion designs comforted me. I believe that appreciation of Mom's art work was what inspired me.
