OverviewHe was her duty and her passion... Lady Victoria Wickerby has never been troubled by the idea of fulfilling the duties of her station. Having disguised her determined personality beneath a blithe exterior, she fully intends to continue running a school for impoverished factory women, even after she weds the man chosen by her father. And having heard whispers of what wifely duties entail, Victoria supposes that giving her new husband a little attention will be bearable. For Spencer Ashby, Duke of Casebridge, three minutes a night will not be enough. He sets out to patiently, thoroughly seduce his fiancé of five years. His ulterior motives are quickly revealed after they recite their vows: He has a young son from a previous liaison. Spencer needs Victoria's influence and charm to redirect gossip away from a child wrapped in scandal. Presenting a unified front as a loving couple will not be simple, and Spencer's sweet, seemingly naïve bride expects a high price for her public smiles. Tangled in their schemes, the no-nonsense newlyweds never expect to find a love as vigorous as their passion-a love even stronger than their stubborn hearts.
