Dade is summoned to a planning session with General MacArthur and his top naval staff to discuss the best way American submarines (including ten of Dade's) can support MacArthur's invasion to retake the Philippines. Book 6 is an epic standout in the historical fiction genre, featuring not only pulse pounding submarine action in the Pacific, but what goes on behind the scenes. There is a lot of historical detail on MacArthur's operation as well as a behind the scenes account of the debate among the Japanese War Cabinet after Hiroshima was bombed, then after Nagasaki was bombed.
