A Teenager’s A to Z Guide to Earth School: The Life Lessons I Wish I Knew When I Was You

Overview

“No one hands you a manual when you’re born. But if life is a journey, consider this your compass.” *A Teenager’s A to Z Guide to Earth School: The Life Lessons I Wish I Knew When I Was You* is a bold and heartfelt guide for young people navigating the highs and lows of growing up. Written with honesty, empathy, and lived experience, it speaks directly to teenagers about the real issues they face today from anxiety, depression, and resilience to bullying, boundaries, body image, confidence, and consent. Structured from A to Z, each letter of the alphabet becomes a life lesson. Inside are relatable stories, practical advice, quotes, and reflection tasks designed to help teenagers not just survive adolescence, but grow through it. The book covers the challenges adults often shy away from discussing, mental health, identity, sexuality, pornography, social media, and peer pressure, and balances them with uplifting guidance on gratitude, goals, love, loyalty, and self-worth. Unlike traditional self-help resources, this book doesn’t preach or lecture. It connects. It validates what teenagers feel, offering simple tools they can use to build confidence, emotional intelligence, and resilience. Each chapter reminds them they are not alone, that their struggles do not define them, and that they have the strength to shape their own path. More than just a personal resource, the book is also curriculum-aligned, supporting key Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) competencies including self-awareness, responsible decision-making, and relationship skills. It links directly to Australia’s Health and Physical Education (HPE) outcomes and the U.S. CASEL framework, making it a valuable tool for schools, libraries, youth groups, and mental health services. Whether used in a classroom, youth program, or given by a caring adult to a teenager in need, A Teenager’s A to Z Guide to Earth School is both a conversation starter and a compass for growth. It is a reminder to every young person that in Earth School, the only exam that truly matters is learning how to live fully, and love yourself along the way.

Author Information

Author Biography – Liam Mulhall Liam Mulhall is an Australian author, coach, and mentor dedicated to guiding the next generation through the challenges of adolescence with honesty, compassion, and strength. His debut book, A Teenager’s A to Z Guide to Earth School: The Life Lessons I Wish I Knew When I Was You, was written as the resource he wished he had growing up — a lifeline for young people navigating anxiety, depression, identity, resilience, and the pressures of modern life. A proud Old Boy of St Edmund’s College, Liam now serves as the First XIII rugby league coach, mentoring young athletes both on and off the field. Drawing on his background as a former soldier and firefighter, he brings a unique perspective to youth development — combining lived experience, discipline, and empathy. Having worked closely with elite youth athletes across Australia, Liam understands the pressures teenagers face today, from the classroom to the sporting field to the online world. Liam’s writing is bold, authentic, and deeply connected to his own journey. Behind his professional achievements lies a personal mission: to break down the silence around mental health and give teenagers tools to navigate life’s toughest lessons. His work reflects his belief that education is not only about academics but about resilience, relationships, and emotional intelligence — qualities that prepare young people for both success and adversity. Through his publishing imprint, Beacon and Quill, Liam is committed to creating resources that bridge the gap between academic content and real-world conversations. His book aligns with Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) frameworks, making it a valuable resource for schools, youth programs, and families alike. Liam currently lives in Queensland with his loyal dog, Oscar, who has been by his side for over a decade. Whether on the sporting field, in the classroom, or on the page, Liam’s goal remains the same: to empower young people to believe in themselves, embrace their uniqueness, and face Earth School with courage and heart.
