Table of ContentsReviewsFrom the very first pages of this debut book from AD100 firm Pierce & Ward, readers are in for a treat. However, it may not be for the minimalist-minded. It kicks off with an ode to the art of more, and everything that follows--including the graphic design of the book itself, which features ornate lettering, bold stripes, and lots of historical patterns--lives up to that ethos. Designers Emily Ward and Louisa Pierce spill their style secrets--they favor antique Persian and Turkish rugs, and avoid using too much wood in an interior, as it can veer into a lodge vibe --while giving readers a glimpse into certain favorite projects, including the homes of A-list clients Melanie Griffith, Josh Brolin, and Kate Hudson. --ARCHITECTURAL DIGEST.COM Pierce & Ward are a design duo that has burst onto the scene in the last few years with Hollywood clients including Leonardo DiCaprio, Brie Larson, Kate Hudson, and Dakota Johnson. Their recent book from Rizzoli covers their journey as only they can, with richly patterned pages, luxe photography, and the unique stories behind their work. Pick this one up for the richly layered book design on its own. And be sure to check out our recent interview with the pair. -- CHAIRISH BLOG Holiday Gift Guide: Louisa Pierce and Emily Ward have created homes for the likes of Brie Larson, Leonardo DiCaprio, Dakota Johnson, and Kate Hudson.
