Overviewjean-Paul Sartre is one of the most influential philosophers of twentieth century. The aim of Sartre's philosophical career is to establish a philosophy of existence; i.e. Existentialism, which is the philosophy of concrete man. By applying phenomenological method, Sartre wants to develop an ontological account of what is to be human, the main theme of which is radical freedom that characterizes the human condition.
