He completed his year ten enducation and won a National Scholarship to attend an Agricultural College in East Sepik Province where he didn't complete his studies due to various demands by the local landowners of the area in which the College was established on. Here, he withdrew from school. Couple of months later the college was shut down. In 1988 04th of July, he was enlisted with the Papua New Guinea Defence Force. Spent six months duration in his recruit trainings then was posted to the First Battalion of the First Royal Pacific Islands Regiment, Taurama Barrack in Port Moresby the capital of Papua New Guinea. After serviing two years with B Company of the First Battalion, he was posted to the Recon Unit where he served the unit for ten years. He was then transfered into the intelligence stream. His aim is to write three books about the Bougainville Crisis in which the third book will be donated to the children of Bougainville Island. Jonathan is married with four children.
