This personal biography written by his only daughter, takes the reader from his early life playing racquet sports, captaining both hockey and football teams, through WWII and on to the many athletic and business accomplishments of his captivating life. His interest in horses led him into foxhunting, horseracing, and to become the impetus of the successful Canadian Equestrian Team of the 1960's and 1970's, that won many gold medals. Despite his busy life he had time to be a true family man. A touching and memorable read.

Author Information

Gail Whitaker Thompson spent her early life on a horse farm on the Grand River just outside Caledonia, Ontario. She and her brothers had the advantage of of being introduced to many sports and outdoor activities by their father who was a highly decorated WWII veteran and avid sportsman. After graduation from Hamilton Teachers' College she taught school for several years before following her love of horses and becoming a professional trainer and rider. While living in Iran in the 1970's she trained the Iranian show jumping team for the Shah. When she settled in Richmond, Virginia, she opened an equestrian facility where she trained Hunter/Jumper horses and riders for the next forty years. Upon her retirement she has found time to engage in her passion for writing. She lives in Ocala, Florida.
