OverviewThis study of the social history of the Welsh clergy is more an interim report or even a work in progress rather than a final assessment. Age and infirmity have forced me to publish it in this typescript format, and I have deliberately kept the text unjustified to emphasise this position. I had hoped to abridge it but this is not to be. It is produced in an extremely limited edition in the hope that this work may be useful as a source to draw upon, especially as many of the sources used, both manuscript and printed, are scarce and a few remain in private hands. The first six sections relating to the life of the clergy from ordination to death, are contained in the first part, published in 2017, comprising three volumes, while the next eight sections dealing with their parochial work, are published in part two in these volumes. As each section is complete in itself there is an unavoidable amount of duplication.
