"Elizabeth R. Hale is 92 years old and lives in an independent living community in Morrisville, North Carolina. She has always loved books and reading, especially to children. She has four daughters, nine grandchildren, and three greatgrandchildren. Elizabeth was inspired to share A Small Bear's Tale with the world after reading it to her four-year-old great granddaughter whose response to the book's end was, ""Read it again."" Betsi McKay enjoys combining two of her life-long interests - art and nature study. She has taught drawing to people ages 5 to 75 and has worked at nature centers. She usually lives in the woods and shares her home with her pet dogs."
