Photographer Alyson Fox approached 125 women, most of whom had never before had their portrait taken, and asked them to pose for her with one condition: each must wear Revlon Certainly Red lipstick. Fox's lens lovingly captures the individual beauty and passion of each woman. A thought-provoking examination of female identity and a visual pleasure, ""Certainly Red"" explores how 'putting a face on' for the camera is sometimes the best way to show who you really are.

Alyson Fox is a multi-talented illustrator, designer, and photographer. Her art has been featured in the New York Times, Nylon, Oprah, and Spaces magazines, as well as Design Sponge, Little Paper Planes and numerous design blogs. Her personal style and aesthetic were featured several times in the pages of Domino magazine. Her fashion brand A Small Collection has been featured on Daily Candy, Lucky, Map, and Metro Pop magazines. Her work has also appeared in Wallpaper, Bust, and Ready Made. In addition to her fashion line, her designs have graced porcelain tableware from Ink Dish, and advertising for Candy Store Collective. Certainly Red is her first book-length photography project.
