Overview

Rhyme in Time is a poem that celebrates the power of creative imagination to connect with the natural world and its inhabitants. The poet weaves together vivid imagery and playful language to evoke a sense of wonder and enchantment, inviting readers to join in the imaginative journey. The poem begins by introducing silly as a Goat walking to philly, taking a trip on a boat or plane to Chile, leaving a bag of rice and a goodbye note. The speaker then introduces a graceful deer, that met a clown and played in the playground and had the children screaming, he fell down. Next, the poet then introduces Bobbit the rabbit, returned from a far country with good hobbits. Next, the poet imagines a loyal and friendly dog, followed by a mysterious and aloof cat. The poem then turns its attention to the bustling world of bees, evoking their tireless industry and delicate beauty. Finally, the poet conjures up the image of a majestic lion, who represents the raw power and majesty of the natural world. Throughout the poem, the poet emphasizes the importance of using creative imagination to engage with the world around us and suggests that such imaginative play can lead to a deeper understanding of ourselves and our place in the world.
