Mukti Thapaliya completed a PhD in education in 2018 at the University of Canterbury, Christchurch, New Zealand. Thapaliya is a registered teacher in Nepal and New Zealand. He has over 27 years of full-time professional experience teaching students from Year 1 to postgraduate in Nepal and New Zealand. He worked as a lecturer, a teacher, and a special education needs coordinator. He developed and facilitated inclusive and special education programmes, including professional development for pre-service and in-service teachers, parents, students, and other stakeholders who work in inclusive and special education. Currently, he works as a Resource Teacher: Learning and Behaviour (RTLB) at RTLB Cluster 9, Auckland, New Zealand. Mukti is passionate about the role of the response-to-intervention approach in children's success.
